Artist Statement

My motivation to make art is the pure experience of being energized with life while being immersed with clay.  The process involves exploring and creating which feeds my soul.  Being immersed in clay and natural found objects re-energizes and restores my inner most sacred resources.  The sensory experience of nature inspires me in the creation of my pottery.  The texture, color and shape of rocks, birds, seeds, and trees inspire the making of my hand built, one-of-a kind creations.  I believe that others can feel the energy and spirit I put into my work.  I experience enjoyment when others have a strong sensory and spiritual connection with my pottery.  What Mother Earth provides, I use to re-create sculptures and images that say:
